REHABILITATION OF THE MUNICIPAL HALL OF THE FORMER CHAPEL OF SANIT DOMÉNECH AT THE LES COMTES PALACE

Proposal submitted for the competition for the rehabilitation and adaptation of the municipal hall of the former Chapel of Sant Domènech, part of the Palau dels Comtes complex and located at Plaça Joc de la Pilota, 1, intended for new tourism, cultural, and community uses. The intervention proposes the heritage recovery and functional reactivation of the building through the introduction of a multifunctional program capable of accommodating activities of varying scales and character. The project includes a main multipurpose hall with a flexible capacity ranging from 300 to 750 people, a medium-sized hall for 200 users, and an additional smaller hall for 100 people, together with the necessary supporting and ancillary spaces: main lobbies, service areas, dressing rooms, circulation spaces, and technical facilities. The proposal places particular emphasis on balancing the preservation of the historical and spatial values of the former chapel with the integration of contemporary infrastructures, ensuring functional flexibility, environmental quality, and the urban integration of the complex.
