OPENING OF THE WINDOW OF THE NAVE IV OF GIRONA'S CATHEDRAL

According to the historic report, the window has never been opened. With the possibility of opening the window and placing a stained glass, two interesting issues emerged: The first one is whether to rebuild the tracery or design a stained glass according to the current tecnologies and, the second one, is who has to design it. For the staiend glass design, as a request of the "Director plan of Girona's Cathedral" redactor team, the Cathedral Chapter convened an advisory committee who finally choose the irish artist Sean Scully, "that certainly will mean a new contemporary contribution to the compendium style of the valuable heritage of the Cathedral's Girona stained glasses". In terms of construction it is imposed the thesis of reconstruction integrated and discrete of mullions and tracery, as just in front is placed the model to follow.
