EXPANSION AND REMODELING GIRONA'S CATHEDRAL PRESBYTERY

Due to the adaptation to Vatican II requirements, it is extended the presbytery of Girona's Cathedral inside the scope of the three naves for liturgical celebrations. The conditions of the intervention are the reversibility, the detchatibility of the materials, as well as the visibility of both celebrants and pieces. The project is porposed from the austerity, simplicity of lines and materials, and optimal disposition of the parts of the liturgy, maintaining a high relationship between them. These are: • Ambo. Fragment of the Romanesque. • Now Romanesque. XI. • Canopy, Master Bartomeu 1320-1362. • Tableau 1320-1380. • Chair, chair Carlemagne s. XI For the conditions described above, it is proposed an intervention with a single material (solid stained oak) and as a carpet on the pavement of the nave in which are located the elements described and the new furniture made up of the set of chairs for the canons and concelebrating priests, that integrates with the general base.
