URBANIZATION PROJECT OF "LA PLAÇA DEL PALLOL" IN GIRONA'S OLD TOWN

The intervention is the sum of seven attitudes and intentions in a public space in the old town of Girona: First, to recognize and respect the topography and existing context. Second, to unify all square parts with the creation of a large longitudinal space, offering a bigger dimension. Third, to propose a grandstand as an exceptional solution to face the topography change between the square and the street. Foruth, to integrate the materials and finishes of the new square in the neighborhood of the old town. Fifth, to improve the accessibility of the surroundings for both pedestrians and traffic. Sixth, to maximize greenery creating a major proximity between nature and citizens. Seventh, to solve the relationship between urban gaps, building bottoms and municipal building courtyard.
